Woodlands
Silverstone is surrounded by a number of woodlands maintained by Forest Enterprise. There are many walking routes and bridle ways through these woodlands.
However, the Forestry Commission has recently taken a decision to remove the right for horse riders to ride in Hazelborough Woods. Up until now (January 2017) they had been allowed to ride on hard tracks only, with posters to that effect. Unfortunately some of the horse riders have been using grassy rides and tracks, and have churned them up quite badly. This damages the ecology of the woodland and makes some of the rides impassable for walkers. There are no rights of way within the woodland which allow horse riding. I have put of four notices throughout the wood, with the same wording as the website message linked below.
